15 gen 2024 · In 1905 Liverpool City Council took over management of both schools and changed the name of the boy’s school to Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, which remained its official name until it closed in 1985. The school’s motto was ‘ Non Nobis Solum, Sed Toti Mundo Nati’ (Not for ourselves alone but for the whole world were we born.)

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was established in 1996 by Founder Mark Featherstone-Witty and Founding Patron Paul McCartney. It is based on the site of Paul and fellow Beatle George Harrison’s old school, The Liverpool Institute for Boys. A third Beatle, John Lennon attended the Liverpool College of Art.
7 giu 1996 · Paul McCartney had known since 1985 that the building which had housed his old school, the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, was becoming increasingly derelict after the school’s closure and wished to find a productive use for it; Mark Featherstone-Witty had set up the Brit School in London and was looking for an opportunity to open another school.

"John Robert Edwards' parents were from Bala in Wales but he grew up in Manchester and attended Manchester Grammar School. He graduated from Univ. in 1920 with a Second in Greats, and entered the world of business briefly.
