20 apr 2018 · Her 1997 sophomore solo effort, Second Sight, is now available on 180-gram vinyl and hi-def FLAC. It finds St. John immersed in passionate art songs influenced by French chanson and clad in tasteful chamber pop. At times her voice, barely above a whisper, blends seamlessly with her oboe, cor anglais, accordion, saxophone, and piano.
In 1997 "Days Like This" was featured on the soundtrack of the film As Good as It Gets. It was played several times in the 2007 film Because I Said So. It has also been used in a Channel 7 Australia ad campaign. [citation needed] In episode 2 of season 4 of the Netflix Money Heist television series, the song is played. [6]

Though Kate St. John is best known for her contributions to the Dream Academy, the woodwind player, singer, and composer has kept busy with several other projects since that group disbanded. A frequent contributor to Van Morrison's solo albums, she collaborated with composer Roger Eno on The Familiar (1993).
