Ipswich Grammar School was founded in 1863 and commenced swimming activities with a heated 50m pool in 1980 when the first swimming club was established. The vision of the Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club is to provide a fun, safe and supportive environment for swimmers to develop their racing skills while encouraging members to have a great time with their friends and family.
In the spirit of reconciliation Ipswich Grammar School acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Ipswich Grammar School is located in Darling Street, Ipswich. We are 10 minutes drive from the Motorway and 45 minutes from the international and domestic airports. Public transport is also easily accessible with our campus, only an 11 minute walk from Ipswich Railway Station, and public buses also run regularly.

Ipswich Grammar School was opened in 1863 following the enactment of the Grammar Schools Act in 1860. It was Queensland's first secondary school and is important in demonstrating the evolution or pattern of Queensland's history, especially with regards to the development of an educational system in Queensland during a period of important pedagogical change.
