Thomas Alleyne’s High School is larger than average. As the only secondary school in the area, it takes students into Year 9 from a very large geographical area. At the time of the inspection, the school was in a transition period between one headteacher who left the school in December 2013 and another due to take up her post in April 2014.

Support for the school’s work to improve attendance has been limited.

English revisions sessions Sat 9th March We are looking forward to welcoming our first expert English provider on Saturday 9th March. David Firby will be focussing on English Language Paper 1 and will provide targeted expertise on how to answer specific questions on the paper.
Care, Support and Guidance at Thomas Alleyne’s High School. Thomas Alleyne’s High School has a strong, established pastoral system. This is led by Mrs Claire Catterall, Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for Student Wellbeing. Students are welcomed into Year 9 with a Form Tutor who spends the first part of every day with them.
