The water temperature is also a peculiarity. Whereas the temperature ranges between 5 to 7° C in other seas, the Red Sea has a temperature of 20° C even at a depth of 1,000 m. It is caused by a trench along the seafloor, formed by plate tectonics, whose volcanic activity heats up the water.

Maksur is 800 m long cucumber shaped reef, often compared to the Red Sea classic, Elphinston, and with a steep drop off. Maksur has amazing south plateau two steps covered with mixture soft, hard coral and two pinnacles like towers. Claudia (cavern): a cave full of many canyons. Average depth inside 5- 12m. Malahi This is an explorers dream.
General Information. GPS: N 26° 18.707′ E 34° 50,789. Big Brother Island certainly counts as one of the most beautiful and popular dive sites in the Red Sea. The 480 m long island is located 61 km northeast of the town of El Quseir in the middle of the sea, where it rises from a depth of 800 m to an elevation of 10 m above sea level.
