The Space Vampires, his fi fty-fi rst book, was translated into Spanish, Japanese, French, Dutch and Swedish and was later adapted for screen in the movie LIFEFORCE, directed by Tobe Hooper (SALEM'S LOT, POLTERGEIST, THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE).
Io personalmente ritengo più esatta la seconda possibilià, anche perchè "Space Vampires", che rimane indubbiamente un buon film, attinge sì da vecchie idee ma le rielabora a modo suo offrendo nuovi interessanti spunti narrativi, e forse il merito va anche alla sceneggiatura di Dan O'Bannon, autore e regista di alcuni cult movie tra cui "Il ritorno dei morti viventi".

I also think that you will get more out of this book if you have read a few of Colin Wilson's non-fiction book and can pick up some of the brief allusions in it.

The Space Vampires is by no means a great scifi book. Colin Wilson's style is somewhat awkward and mechanical. In fact, it almost seems this book were contrived as a means of expressing his ideas on the dynamic of vampiric exchange and the nature of consciousness, and that's fine by me because Wilson is spot on with his observations.
