Jean-Baptiste Clésinger (1814 - 1883). Clésinger apprend la sculpture auprès de son père, le grand sculpteur académique, Georges-Philippe Clésinger. Ce dernier l’emmène à Rome six ans, où il deviendra l’élève de l’artiste danois néoclassique Bertel Thorvaldsen qui l’influence pour le reste de son œuvre.
