Pierluigi Martini, born on April 23, 1961, in Lugo, Italy, is a former Italian Formula One racing driver who competed in the sport from 1984 to 1995. Martini began his racing career in go-karts before moving up to Formula 3 and then Formula 2. He made his F1 debut in 1984 with the Toleman team and quickly established himself as a talented driver.
