2 mag 2024 · Christabel Pankhurst was the eldest daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and Dr. Richard Pankhurst. In 1903, Christabel, her mother, and her sister Sylvia founded the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), through which they conducted a militant campaign to obtain the vote for women. Christabel was one of the ablest organizers of the campaign.

A leading Suffragette, Christabel Pankhurst was one of the primary strategists of the campaign for women’s right to vote in the first decades of the twentieth century. Throughout the nineteenth century, numerous petitions to parliament, demanding women’s political enfranchisement, had been unsuccessful.
Christabel Harriette Pankhurst, född 22 september 1880 i Manchester, död 13 februari 1958 i Los Angeles, var en brittisk kvinnorättskämpe och suffragett.
