Craig Armstrong ( Glasgow, 29 april 1959) is een Schots componist van voornamelijk filmmuziek . Armstrong studeerde compositie, viool en piano aan de Royal Academy of Music in Londen van 1977 tot 1981. Hij was in de jaren tachtig en negentig actief bij de Royal Shakespeare Company, de Royal Scottish National Orchestra en de London Sinfonietta.
Craig Armstrong a notamment contribué aux arrangements de U2, Texas, Madonna (sur Frozen ), The Future Sound of London et surtout sur les albums de Massive Attack, qui d'ailleurs le produisent sur leur label Melankolic . Il est par ailleurs compositeur de musique de films, notamment à l'origine de la musique des œuvres du réalisateur ...
Ecossais d'origine, Craig Armstrong est né à Glasgow en 1959, et se passionne très jeune pour la musique, étudiant le piano. Influencé par Dusty Springfield, Scott Walker ou Dionne Warwick, il participe tout d'abord à des groupes écossais comme arrangeur, après avoir suivi des études à la Royal Academy of Music à Londres.

Craig Armstrong era l'arrangiatore dei Massive Attack, un gruppo che il regista Louis Leterrier apprezzava e con il quale collaborò per Danny the Dog (2005). Hulk , insieme a Lanterna Verde , era uno dei fumetti preferiti del musicista quando era bambino, anche se non aveva visto la versione del Golia verde diretta da Ang Lee.
