22 lug 2015 · Aspettando Godot è la prima opera di Samuel Beckett a sperimentare il nuovo genere inaugurato da Ionesco. L’opera è composta da due atti: nel primo, due vagabondi, Vladimir ed Estragon, ciondolano nella logorante attesa del misterioso Godot. Nel gioco delle aspettative, i protagonisti si interrogano sulla vita, la separazione, il tempo.
Beckett iniziò a scrivere Aspettando Godot per distrarsi e riposarsi in una pausa di lavorazione della cosiddetta trilogia, dopo aver concluso Malone muore e prima di mettersi al lavoro su L’innominabile, dunque tra la fine del 1948 e l’inizio del 1949. Beckett non aveva alcuna idea delle tendenze teatrali del tempo.
