This is a fine film with the ever dependable Jack Hawkins as Jim Fletcher who quits a good job after a row with his employer and decides to emigrate to Australia. As one might expect the decision to move is not exactly met with hoorays by his family and pitfalls abound, including his daughter meeting the man of her dreams two days prior to departure.
