Ma proprio grazie a questa vicinanza tra il 1819 e il 1820, il giovane poeta visse un momento particolarmente stimolante di creatività, realizzando tre delle sue poesie più celebri: Ode on a Grecian Urn , Ode on Melancholy e Ode to a Nightingale .

13 ott 2019 · For the bicentennial of John Keats’s 13 October 1819 love-letter to Fanny Brawne, I wrote briefly on the 2019 Amazon Rainforest fires, the inspiration behind a long poem titled "A Ride Through Faerie", and not-so-briefly on Keats’s life during his difficult autumn of 1819.
That year he would also fall in love with Fanny Brawne and by the spring of 1819 would embark on what was to become one of the most important sequences of odes in our literature, all written in a single year. “La Belle Dame sans Merci” was written in the heat of his passion for Fanny, the fever of death hanging over him.
