He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati, was a Fulbright scholar in Mexico, and currently teaches in the colleges of the City University of New York and in the Labour Studies program of the Murphy Institute.

During his imagined visit to Tijuana in Chapter 54, Serge argues that Trotsky’s vision of an imminent international working-class revolution following World War II is “a utopian ideal for the future” (p. 318), not a realistic analysis for socialist advance in the present.

1 gen 1990 · I am inspired by Professor La Botz's book and am ready now to help. The best part is that this book allows me to know that the problems at my Local are nationwide. Workers from many Teamster organized companies are dealing with the same issues of fighting their Teamster representatives while also dealing with the companies they work for.
