The season premiere was delayed due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, which also caused the season to be shortened to 10 episodes. On April 15, 2024, ABC renewed the series for a seventh season consisting of 18 episodes . As of May 21, 2024, 108 episodes of The Rookie have aired, concluding the sixth season.
