But shortly after the release of 'Superman: The Movie' he was fired by the producers and the awful Richard Lester was brought in to finish post production on 'Superman II' and is the credited director of the film.
I like to say originally intended makes for a better superman STORY but it is arguably slightly less entertaining because I had to remove that awesome Superman scream at the end of S78 when Lois dies. Its a bummer to remove what is arguably Chris Reeve's greatest scene as Superman but again, this is why I chose to go with different versions.
