Colvin has been married twice, first to Simon Tassano in 1993 whom she divorced in 1995, and to photographer Mario Erwin, whom she married in 1997 and divorced in 2002. She gave birth to a daughter in July 1998.
Despite the commercial success, offstage Colvin was juggling a new marriage and the birth of her daughter.

Here was a whole new person - my daughter - and I had a whole new purpose - to raise her. My life has never been the same and there will never be anyone like my girl.
