3 giorni fa · In 1983, with the addition of several new members, The Waterboys band was born. The band name was taken from a Lou Reed song called The Kids. Even though Mike may have recorded some of these songs as solo demos back in November 1981, in November 1982 most of the songs that would eventually end up appearing on the first two albums were recorded at Redshop Recording Studio in north London.

13 giu 2024 · The Waterboys have been led by Scottish singer and guitarist Mike Scott since the 1980s and have evolved through countless line-ups, winning a fearsome concert reputation along the way. Their best-known songs include The Whole Of The Moon, How Long Will I Love You, This Is The Sea and Fisherman's Blues.

11 giu 2024 · The band rehearsed pre-recording at SIR [Studio Instrument Rentals & Rehearsal Studio Company]. The main recordings took place throughout March and April in the Sound Emporium, Nashville. Addtional recordings took place at Ocean Soul Studios and The House Of Blues Studios in Nashville and back in Puck Towers in Dublin.
7 giu 2024 · The band released their self-titled debut LP in 1983, and have since followed up with a further 14 studio albums, the most recent being 2022's 'All Souls Hill'. The Waterboys will headline Glasgow's Summer Nights On The Southside concert series in June 2024, and have also announced a pair of Irish headline shows for August.
