The Graduate Center (GC) is the principal doctorate-granting institution of the City University of New York. Offering more than thirty doctoral degrees and fostering globally significant research in a wide variety of centers and institutes, the GC provides rigorous academic training in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences.
The Graduate Center provides an administrative home for five CUNY schools and one program. We are located at 365 Fifth Avenue, between 34th and 35th streets in the former B. Altman building—a landmark structure redesigned to meet the specific needs of a 21st century institution of advanced learning and to provide public spaces for cultural and conference purposes.
17 gen 2024 · Today at the Graduate Center, Simons Foundation President David Spergel and CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez celebrated with Graduate Center Interim President Joshua Brumberg a historic $75 million gift to CUNY that earmarks $50 million to establish the University as a hub for computational science through a comprehensive program located within the Graduate Center.
