Jamie Lidell moves from Warp onto his own label, Jajulin, for BUILDING A BEGINNING. And the title track wastes no time in jumping feet first into the soul, before "Julian" brings up the energy some. "How Did I Live Before Your Love" has a slinky feel, augmented by the wah-wah guitar, while "Walk Right Back" is more crisp.
