As Husbands Go: A Novel, by Susan Isaacs, is one of those perfect mixes of comedy, mystery, and thought-provoking social satire that kept me reading and reading. I loved the characters, finely drawn and true-to-life, especially Susie and Ethel.

A recipient of the Writers for Writers Award and the John Steinbeck Award, Isaacs serves as chairman of the board of Poets & Writers and is a past president of Mystery Writers of America.
As Husbands Go opened on Broadway at the John Gold Theatre on March 5, 1931, under the direction of the playwright, Rachel Crothers. The show ran for 148 performances. On January 19, 1933, As Husbands Go returned to Broadway at the Forrest Theatre, again playing a run of 148 performances.
