Straw Dogs is a 2011 American action thriller film directed, produced, and written by Rod Lurie. It is a remake of Sam Peckinpah 's 1971 film Straw Dogs , itself based on the Gordon Williams novel The Siege of Trencher's Farm .
Tom insists that Henry's brother, John (Peter Arne), "keep a close watch on him". David and Amy are getting ready for bed. The voyeuristic Janice spies on them. After a long night of lecturing and cheating antics, they retire for the night. On the next day, Amy becomes increasingly incensed by David's neglectful ways.
Straw Dogs is directed by Sam Peknipah and Peckinpah co-adapts to screen play with David Zelag Goodman from the novel "The Siege of Trencher's Farm" written by Gordon Williams. It stars Dustin Hoffman, Susan George, Peter Vaughan, T.P. McKenna, Del Henney and Ken Hutchison. Music is by Jerry Fielding and cinematography by John Coquillon.
American mathematician David Sumner moves with his wife, Amy, to the isolated Cornish town where she grew up. Their presence provokes antagonism among the village men. The pacifistic David resorts to the gruesome violence he abhors when the savagery instensifies.
