15 mag 2024 · United Artists was formed in 1919 by four of the leading figures in the early Hollywood era: Mary Pickford, Charles Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, and D. W. Griffith. It was largely sold to Arthur Krim and Robert Benjamin in 1951; both Chaplin and Pickford sold the remaining shares to Krim and Benjamin in 1956.
She is the founder of the United Artists movement. At the origin of «United Artists For Europe» launched in 2019 with Simon de Pury, Bernard-Henri Lévy and Thaddaeus Ropac and thirty renowned contemporary artists. The idea is to help cultural projects that have been stopped for political, social or even climatic reasons.
