2 feb 2010 · “Great Performances has been bringing the best in American dance to public television viewers via the Dance in America series since 1976,” says Executive Producer David Horn.
One in this dance series presented under the umbrella of "Great Performances." In this program, New York City's Feld Ballet Company, under the direction of namesake Eliot Feld, is examined. The program opens with a solo from "Excursions," danced by Christine Sarry to the music of Samuel Barber.
The Judy Kinberg PBS Dance in America collection, dated 1975 to 2010, reflects the productions that Kinberg produced and/or directed for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS). The collection holds mostly publicity-generated material for each individual artist or dance company or for special performances including those by the American Ballet Theatre, George Balanchine, and the Joffrey Ballet.
