It's amazing to realise just how many instantly recognisable themes Mike Post has been responsible for. It would be easy to brand him as the cop show composer with NYPD Blue, Hill Street Blues, Law & Order and The Rockford Files. But as this collection shows, he's had his musical fingers in just about every genre pie eaten by TV viewers.

Mike Post (born Leland Michael Postil, September 29, 1944) is an American composer, best known for his television theme music for various shows, including The White Shadow; Law & Order; Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; The A-Team; The Byrds of Paradise; NYPD Blue; Renegade; The Rockford Files; L.A. Law; Quantum Leap; Magnum, P.I.; and Hill Street Blues.

If Mike Post was actually involved in the making of this album, I would be surprised. Mike has created the BEST themesongs on tv to date, so I was excited to see this album released. The deep bass notes are nonexistant in any track, and the theme from Hardcastle & McCormack is missing the vocals.
