Myron, né à Éleuthères en Attique, dans la première moitié du Ve siècle av. J.-C., est l'un des plus célèbres sculpteurs grecs, bronzier. Il est l'auteur de nombreuses statues d'athlètes, la plus connue étant le Discobole.

Originally sculpted in bronze by an Athenian man called Myron (born in the fortress-city of Eleutherae in the 5th century BC), the statue has gained fame largely through its many bronze and marble copies made by the Romans.
28 apr 2022 · Myron’s Discobolus (460–450 BC) was a bronze sculpture of the Classical period in Greek art that portrayed a discus thrower.Myron’s original disc thrower statue has been lost to time, but the piece is recognized through multiple Roman reproductions, both full-scale marble replicas (which were less expensive than bronze) and lesser bronze scaled equivalents.
