Arguably their most radical work, Repeat / Metal features side-length tape experiments ranging from the dubby drum loops of “Repeat”, a 20 minute edit / reworking of their landmark piece “24 Track Loop”, to the gamelan-inspired sounds of “Metal”, an electro-acoustic work recorded outside of their studio, Cold Storage, and helmed by member Gareth Williams.
riferendosi a Repeat / Metal (LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered) MCR 927 Had some slight post-clean click issues, especially on side two. However, unlike the other commenter, I highly recommend this to This Heat fans, Repeat especially is genuinely entertaining, groovy and dancy.

This is inessential. It's a remix LP of previously-released This Heat recordings, and frankly not very interesting. The first side is a remix of "24 Track Loop" from the first LP. The second has less identifiable (to my ears) sources, taken from This Heat recordings, but not any more interesting that the first side. I expected more.
Although widely considered to be Post-Punk’s finest, This Heat actually began performing their music in the early days of London’s punk era. They developed new strange and volatile strains of avant-garde music that time has proved to be hugely influential, a blueprint for much that would follow. Ahead of their time, their music is as startlingly original and relevant as the day it was created.
