The band was formed somewhat accidentally in 2004 while the pair were assigned to write songs for Pussycat Dolls . They achieved some notoriety by creating a fictional history placing the band's origin in 1973, complete with a VH1 mockumentary that introduced mythical singer-songwriter Erin Grace.
