Miranda Hart est né le 14 décembre 1972 à Torquay, Devon, elle est la fille du capitaine de David Hart Dyke (en) et Diana Margaret Luce, fille de Sir William Luce, Commandant en chef et gouverneur d'Aden et sœur de Richard Luce.
