Love Is The Perfect Crime has a plot that reeks of noir, but it’s treatment is more in line with some of the French eroticism Amalric has been associated with previously. It’s a quirky blend that works well enough, the professor’s sexual appetite and relationships becoming as difficult to navigate for him as the prospect of being the main suspect in the central crime.
