His latest studio outing with The Maths is The Machine , a (mostly) instrumental record originally conceived as the live soundtrack to Neil Duffield’s stage adaptation of E.M. Forster’s “The Machine Speaks,” an incredibly forward-thinking science fiction tale from 1909.
