11 dic 2017 · In 1931, Eicke was promoted to the rank of SS colonel by one of the most notorious Nazis, Heinrich Himmler. The next year, Theodor Eicke was caught preparing bomb attacks on political adversaries in Bavaria for which he was sentenced to a two-year prison sentence. As he already enjoyed the privileges and protection, he was able to flee to Italy.

Eicke was considered by people close to him to be overproud, jealous, brutal, humorless, distrustful and fanatic. He was killed on the Eastern front on February 16, 1943.

17 feb 2023 · In October, 1933, Dachau’s commandant, Theodor Eicke, introduced a system of regulations which inflicted brutal punishments on prisoners for the slightest offenses. When Eicke became Inspector of the newly established German concentration camp system, he ensured that the Dachau camp served as a model for all later concentration camps.
Theodore Eicke. Theodore Eicke, the son of a station master, was born in Hampont (close to Château-Salins), Alsace-Lorraine, on 17th October, 1892. Eicke joined the German Army and during the First World War won the Iron Cross for bravery. He was active in the Freikorps before becoming an inspector in the Thuringian police force.
