Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, 1851-1914 . Austrian economist, statesman, leading member of the Austrian School and creator of the Austrian theory of capital. Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (Boehm-Bawerk, sometimes shortened to just Böhm) originated from a prominent family in Brünn (Brno), then part of the Austro-Hungarian province of Moravia.
Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (February 12, 1851 – August 27, 1914) was an Austrian economist who made important contributions to the development of the Austrian school of economics. Böhm-Bawerk together with Carl Menger and Friedrich von Wieser were the three pillars that established the Austrian school.

14 ott 2016 · Alongside Friedrich von Wieser (who had succeeded Menger in 1902) and Eugen von Philippovich, Böhm-Bawerk lectured on economic theory and conducted a seminar that soon attracted many able students, among them Joseph Schumpeter, Rudolf Hilferding, Otto Bauer, Ludwig von Mises, Emil Lederer and Richard von Strigl.
Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, Austrian economist at the University of Vienna, and Austrian finance minister, made the modern intertemporal theory of interest rates possible in his work Capital and Interest. His second book in this series of two, The Positive Theory of Capital, continued on to study the accumulation and influences of capital, proposing an average period of production.
