George Rudolf kreeg de hertogdommen Liegnitz en Wohlau, Johan Christiaan kreeg dan weer Brieg en Ohlau toegewezen. Op 1 oktober 1612 huldigde hij keizer Matthias, die als koning van Bohemen de leenheer was van het hertogdom Liegnitz. In juli 1613 werd hij in Liegnitz officieel ingehuldigd als hertog.

23 ott 2023 · George Rudolf of Liegnitz (German Georg Rudolf von Liegnitz Polish Jerzy Rudolf Legnicki) (22 January 1595 14 January 1653) was duke of LiegnitzWohlau (presentday LegnicaWow) from 1602 to 1653.
The death of his uncle George Rudolf in 1653 increased the domains of the brothers, added to their lands Legnica and Wołów. One year later (1654), was made the formal division of their domains: George III retain Brieg/Brzeg and Louis IV obtain Liegnitz/Legnica.
George Rudolf of Liegnitz. George Rudolf of Liegnitz (_de. Georg Rudolf von Liegnitz; _pl. Jerzy Rudolf Legnicki; January 22, 1595 - January 14, 1653) was a duke in Silesia.. He was the second surviving son of Duke Joachim Friedrich of Liegnitz-Brieg ((Legnica-Brzeg), and his wife Anna Maria, the daughter of Joachim Friedrich, Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst.
She was baptized on 1 January 1653. Her godfather was a senior member of the family, Duke George Rudolf of Liegnitz, but he was seriously ill at the time of her birth. He died thirteen days later on 14 January, so he was replaced during the ceremony by her paternal uncle, Louis IV of Legnica.
