I Paradise Lost nascono ad Halifax nel 1988, ad opera del cantante Nick Holmes e del chitarrista Greg Mackintosh, entrambi appassionati di heavy metal ed innamorati delle sonorità di gruppi gothic rock come Bauhaus e The Mission, che eserciteranno una forte influenza sul loro modo di comporre.

History [ edit ] Lost officially came together in the middle of 2003, through the friendship of the band's singer Walter Fontana, and the guitarist Roberto Visentin, who were soon joined by the drummer Filippo Spezzapria, bassist Matthew Miller and guitarist Giulio Dalla Stella.
Il 7 novembre esce "Lost live @ mtv.it", un cd+dvd dedicato al mondo dei Lost che raccoglie i momenti più importanti di un anno di successi della band e presentato in diretta a “Striscia la notizia”. “Lost live @ mtv.it” entra direttamente al 1° posto della classifica dvd e raggiunge in poche settimane il dvd di platino.
Il gruppo venne fondato a metà del 2007 da Chris Harms, il quale insieme ai suoi amici di Amburgo formò la band e iniziò a lavorare al primo album.Harms originariamente chiamò il progetto Lord, che cambiò in Lord of the Lost per evitare possibili dispute con i Lordi e i The Lords.
