Strachan originally intended Trinity as a university of strong Anglican alignment, after the University of Toronto severed its ties with the Church of England.

It is with great sadness that the College marks the death on 26 August 2024 of Professor Alexander (Sandy) Goehr, former Fellow of Music and Honorary Fellow of the College. A composer and teacher, Goehr was born into a Jewish musical family in Berlin and moved to England as an infant.
