The wedding was originally planed for 4 July 2020, but was postponed (according to the local newspaper three times!) because of Covid-19.

He was a member of the Swabian line of the Hohenzollern dynasty and the brother of Carol I of Romania. He settled on Maria of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, a member of the Catholic branch of the Hohenzollerns, the dynasty that ruled Prussia and later Germany. The couple wed in Berlin on April 25, 1867.
1 giu 2024 · In 1708 he appointed the second grandson of his sister Clara, Prince Franz Wilhelm von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1704-1737), who after the death of his great-uncle became Count van den Bergh. Unfortunately in 1735 the castle burned down, but was restored afterwards.
