In the time he toured with The Everly Brothers, moved to Spain before finally moving back To LA and hung out with the members of Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Linda Rondstandt, Carl Wilson, and Jackson Browne who produced this album.
“Jesus Mentioned” has this heartbreaking sound. Just Zevon and an acoustic guitar. He alludes to the fact that Elvis was actually the son of God which probably went over well with the religious folk. “Let Nothing Come Between You” has this 80’s mid-tempo groove that veers closer to Huey Lewis & The News than Zevon usual influences.
