It was the first film to co-star Lee and Cushing, who ultimately appeared together in over twenty films and became close friends.

These reboots became as prosperous for Hammer as they had been for Universal, making stars Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee into Karloff and Lugosi for a new generation.
