The Others (2001) appreciation post. This has to be one of my favourite films of all time. Just rewatched it like I do every year and it’s still absolutely fantastic . The atmosphere and the use of light and sound is tremendous. No matter how many times I watch it I’m still moved by the ending.

2 giorni fa · Although it is in color, The Others often has the feel of a black-and-white film with its muted color palette and emphasis on wide swaths of the frame being swallowed in darkness. Yet, there are also scenes like the exteriors that are drenched in grayish fog (most of which, I learned in the supplements, was digitally added) and, of course, all the warm candlelight.
