Engaging with the story does not call for a knowledge of the occult, but paying close attention to the disclosure of subtle pieces of information might well yield a more satisfying experience.

A Dark Song. I've recently re-watched this movie, I've really enjoyed it, it had something different from the norm and the every demonic movie ever, and the build up was very interesting even the end was satisfying (kinda) but replacing the demons/monster with African tribe members was ridiculous.
