29 mag 2024 · Yellow Magic Orchestra（イエロー・マジック・オーケストラ）という名称は、細野が 1970年代 後半に提唱していたコンセプト「イエローマジック」から来ている。 これは 白魔術 （善や 白人 などの象徴。 特に白人音楽）でも、 黒魔術 （悪や 黒人 などの象徴。 主に黒人音楽）でも、そのどちらでもない 黄色人種 独自の音楽を作り上げるとして、魔術の色を人種の色にかけて提唱した「黄色魔術」（イエローマジック）である。 細野がYMO以外で「イエローマジック」の名前を使用しているものとしてはティン・パン・アレーの曲「イエロー・マジック・カーニヴァル」、細野のアルバム『 はらいそ 』の作成者名義「ハリー細野とイエローマジックバンド [3] 」が挙げられる。
