She asked Mr Kennedy to visit the school and meet the people involved in the campaign to save it from closure during a trip to Boston in March as part of an Ulster University Leadership programme.

In 1968 our founder Mary O’Malley, extended an invitation to Jackie Kennedy to ask her to open the Lyric Theatre when it opened its doors on Ridgeway Street, although unfortunately she wasn’t available to attend.
