18 mag 2024 · Lao She (1899-1966) was born of Manchu descent in Beijing. His father, who was a guard soldier, died in a street battle during the Boxer uprising. Fatherless since early childhood, Lao She worked his way through Peking Teacher's College. After graduation he supported himself and his mother through a series of teaching and administrative post.
24 mag 2024 · The troupe has produced a new play, The Life of Mine, based on Lao She's novel of the same name, telling the sad story of a lowly ranked policeman in Beijing during the early 20th century. It will be staged during the festival on Oct 22 and 23.

The stage play Rickshaw Boy, a classic masterpiece drama by the Chinese writer Lao She, was presented at the National Center for Performing Arts from Aug. 10 to 14. The performance is a special performance for the 90th Anniversary of CPC’s Founding.

Located to the west of the Qianmen Gate on the southern edge of Tian'anmen Square, the teahouse is named after the famous Chinese novelist and playwright, Lao She, and his masterpiece drama "Teahouse."

The first-floor restaurant offers tea at 38 yuan ($6) per person, while a courtyard style high-end teahouse on the second floor offers pots of tea from 100 to 120 yuan and a place for people to meet.
