28 mag 2024 · Unflinching, penetrating and razor-sharp in its depiction of the horrors of suburban domestic life, Daddy’s Gone A-Hunting is one of Penelope Mortimer’s better-known novels, and rightly so. It’s a truly excellent book, as insightful in its portrayal of mental illness as it is in the exploration of an unwanted pregnancy, especially when young.
