Everything about The Last of the Mohicans feels like Oscar-bait: the source material, the historical setting (1757 North America during the French and Indian War), the cast, and, most importantly, the high-caliber result.
19 mag 2024 · I just finished “The Charmer,” featuring Nigel Havers and Bernard Hepton, from the BBC in the late 80s. Really enjoyed it — it’s based on the Gorse books — and it got me wondering what other hidden gems are out there from the BBC (or ITV, etc) in the 70s-90s.
