3 nov 2023 · Vernon Dudley Bowhay Nowell, a prominent figure in the British arts scene, has sadly passed away at the age of 78. The news of his demise was announced on Twitter by his close friend, Rupert A. T. Stanshall, leaving fans and admirers shocked and deeply saddened.

Vernon's parents were Walter Nowell and Bessie Bowhay. Unwilling to lose the unusual 'Bowhay' part of the name, they gave their children Vernon Dudley and Peter the name 'Bowhay' as an addendum to the surname 'Nowell'. Hence Vernon always had been Vernon Dudley Bowhay Nowell.
Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell had a cameo role in the film of Rawlinson End and sometimes plays with Tatty Ollity. He also plays in Les Onions (with John Parker, Pete Shade, Dave Newton and Mike Piggot) and Les Anglais (with Dave Newton and Pete Shade).
31 dic 2020 · In their early tours, they travelled in an ambulance driven by the bass player Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell. Initially they appealed most to children. They appeared on Blue Peter in 1966, and the next year got on Do Not Adjust Your Set, an ITV show originally aimed at children that also featured a number of future Pythons.
