20 giu 2024 · Nach der Auflösung des Großfürstentums Siebenbürgen (1868) und der sächsischen Selbstverwaltung (1876) durch die ungarische Regierung bildete diese das Komitat Kronstadt (Brassó vármegye). Seit Ende 1918 gehören Stadt und Kreis faktisch (seit 1920 auch völkerrechtlich) zu Rumänien.
