I'm having a little trouble choosing exposure when in harsh sun or outdoors. Exposing for highlights, I find myself between -1.7 and -2.3. But when I do this on a zoom lens, I find the shadows to be kind of noisy when recovered, even at very low ISO. When I shoot between 0 and -0.7, my highlights are usually blown out.
