  6. 14 mag 2024 · Terence Rattigan wrote The Deep Blue Sea in 1952 after his former lover Kenneth Morgan disconnected the rubber hose from a stove and gassed himself. While many have speculated that the central character, Hester, actually represents a man, Rattigan’s raw, elegant depiction of a woman adrift in an unhappy love affair has proved to be one of the great female roles of our time.
